The People Plan DC model is based on the logic that plans are only as comprehensive as the voices that contribute to their development. This community-driven approach to the Neighborhood Stabilization Initiative fully incorporates resident priorities and insight into strategic recommendations to DHCD. The People Plan DC model engages the broadest possible group of Anacostia and Ivy City & Trinidad residents from the initial stages of the project to identify needs, create a vision, and implement projects effectively.
Market Research
Successful administration of the People Plan DC Neighborhood Stabilization Initiative is rooted in the collaboration of resident insight and expert technical assistance. Recommendations were created and informed through a wide variety of partnerships and programs with local and national experts in research, policy, design, and analysis, in addition to internal expertise drawn from the National Community Reinvestment Coalition.
