Overview

The National Community Reinvestment Coalition is partnering with the Washington, DC Department of Housing and Community Department (DHCD) to implement a Neighborhood Stabilization Program Round 2 (NSP2) grant in the Anacostia, Deanwood, and Ivy City & Trinidad neighborhoods.

The D.C. Department of Housing and Community Development  was awarded $9.5 million to support neighborhood planning, property acquisition, housing rehabilitation and home purchase assistance in these neighborhoods, to help keep residents in their homes and strengthen local businesses to expand their markets.

The three main goals of the NSP2 project are:

  1. Improved access to decent, affordable housing;
  2. Increased commercial development and employment opportunities; and
  3. A comprehensive vision for community redevelopment.

The People Plan DC Neighborhood Stabilization Initiative model was developed to ensure that the city contributes to neighborhood stabilization in accordance with the community’s input and vision for the future, and leverages community assets in the most responsive and effective way possible.
